FAQ

DO I NEED TO BE A STUDENT WITHIN THE SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS TO JOIN?

No, we accept students from various majors across all schools. Inigo encourages students to bring a diverse skill set and all majors are welcome! We have majors ranging from Journalism, Ad/PR, Visual Communication, Business, to much more. Every different major brings different experiences and skill sets, which Inigo greatly values.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TEAMS AND ROLES WITHIN INIGO?

Inigo has four teams: Creative Design, Public Relations, Account and Corporate Communications. Each team has a director and coordinators.

Creative Design: The Creative Design team is comprised of individuals who think big and create deliverables for our clients from a blank slate. They’re our artists behind deliverables such as graphics, videos, podcasts, flyers, visuals for social media content, etc.

Public Relations: The Public Relations team knows how to be intentional and tactical with every word they write and how to grab people’s attention quickly, and they’ve perfected the art of an elevator pitch. They’re our press gurus and write press releases and blog posts, pitch to news outlets, reach out to influencers, and know how to raise awareness of our clients. They also function as our copywriting team, expertly combining their artistic and narrative skills to create scripts, captions, and visual text for our clients.

Account Team: The Account team are the main points of contact for our clients. Their core responsibility is to meet with their designated client throughout the semester to understand their communication needs and communicate these needs to the rest of the agency. These individuals know how to write the perfect email, love keeping organized calendars, and thrive on seeing projects completed start to finish.

Corporate Communications Team: The Corporate Communications team is the force behind Inigo’s recruitment, events, social media and website, and the overall outreach of Inigo. They ensure everything is running smoothly within Inigo and are making Inigo a household name not only within Loyola, but also with Chicago and the rest of the country. They don’t directly work with clients, but they treat Inigo as their client and upkeep Inigo’s image.

HOW MUCH TIME WILL I BE EXPECTED TO COMMIT TO INIGO EACH WEEK?

Members are required to log 7.5 hours each week. This includes the 2.5 hours spent in class on Thursdays, one hour from your individual team meeting on Tuesdays, and any time you spend communicating with clients or creating deliverables.

I DON’T HAVE THAT MUCH EXPERIENCE. CAN I STILL APPLY?

Yes! We’re all students, and we’re all still taking classes and developing our skills each day. No one is expected to be an expert. If you’re still developing your interests and are not sure which team is best for you, reach out to us! We’re happy to help you find a good fit within our agency so that you can find which areas of work you’re most passionate about. We accept applicants from various grade and experience levels.

WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS AFTER I SUBMIT MY APPLICATION? WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF I WAS ACCEPTED?

Once your application has been submitted, a member from our Corporate Communications Team will contact you to with further information. We will schedule an interview and have you answer writing prompts such as write a sample client email, press release or create a sample graphic based off information we provide you.
